Background

IBA Group introduced standard SAP ERP functionality to a railway company with over 100 branches. However, this functionality did not incorporate the specific features essential for the railway company’s revenue planning and management, including cargo transportation and passenger services. Therefore, the company required a customized SAP solution.

Challenges

Customer management had to grapple with delayed and unreliable information on the profitability of different cargo types, encompassing both revenue and costs. The absence of ready-made SAP solutions tailored for railway companies posed a significant challenge. An overload of over 150 legacy systems designed for railway-specific functions hampered planning and management of financial and economic activities.

Solution Highlights

Based on SAP products, IBA Group developed a custom solution for revenue accounting. This solution provides real-time visibility into transactions with customers, offering a detailed breakdown of transportation service costs for each customer and shipment. It also effectively tracks revenues from various transportation types across different analytical dimensions.

Key Results

The solution implemented by IBA Group allowed for increased efficiency of revenue management, optimized management of accounts receivable and accounts payable, and improved financial flows. Replacement of legacy systems with the new solution contributed to significant cost reductions in operations related to core activities, particularly in cargo transportation services. Company management benefits from regular and timely reporting of revenue and costs, resulting in enhanced decision-making capabilities.

Business challenge

Process data on the counterparties of the telecommunications company and import them from Excel to the SAP ERP system. Then, based on this data, create Word documents to conclude additional agreements with contractors and enter them into the workflow system.

Solution

IBA Group team conducted a benchmarking analysis of the three leading RPA systems: UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism. To address the challenge, they chose UiPath.

In the course of the project, several remote consultations on RPA and solution demonstrations were held for the customer. An algorithm has been implemented for obtaining data from an Excel file, processing and entering it into the SAP system. Also, the robot automatically generated contracts in Word format based on the data obtained.

Result

The pilot project showed that the robot can take on the routine manual work of users. So the company’s employees will have more time for analytical tasks.

Business challenge

Create a robot that will place orders on the websites of suppliers.

Solution

Customer’s specialists downloaded data from SAP on a daily basis. For example, they prepared lists of automotive spare parts to be ordered from suppliers. After that, the operators visited the websites and placed orders. The number of orders is large; several operators were involved in the process. IBA Group team created a robot that automatically visits the sites of suppliers and places orders.

Result

IBA Group completed a pilot project — created and deployed a robot capable of placing orders instead of an operator.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

Monitor changes and activity of employees in the system during the implementation of production tasks on the SAP platform and increase the number of users.

SOLUTIONS HIGHLIGHTS

IBA Group arranged monitoring of the use of critical business transactions, roles and permissions of SAP users, created a register of transactions for analytical reporting and review of suspicious situations. We configured preventive control of certain transactions and processes with online warning of emerging threats. The solution notifies security officers of suspicious activity occurring in critical systems of the bank.

Result

The implemented system allowed automation of complex processes of bank information security and protection of SAP applications against attacks.

Project Overview
